Vaccinations and Overseas Medicals
Vaccines are biological substances that may lose their effectiveness quickly if they become too hot or too cold at any time, especially during transport and storage. Vaccines naturally biodegrade over time and storage outside of the recommended temperature range – including transport and storage – may speed up loss of potency, which cannot be reversed. This may result in the failure of the vaccine to protect, as well as resulting in vaccine wastage. OHPLTD ensure that all vaccines delivered to the Occupational Health Partnership Ltd are accepted in the knowledge that they have been transported safely from the ordering source and the ‘cold chain’ (2 - 8°C) has been maintained that all vaccines stored by Occupational Health Partnership Ltd, are stored within the recommended manufacturer guidelines i.e. 2 - 8°C that all equipment used for the safe storage of vaccines is of an acceptable standard and that it is regularly maintained including annual calibration where necessary. that procedure for vaccines administration maintains the ‘cold chain’ at all times, so that vaccines are administered to individuals with optimum potency, thus offering maximum efficacy.
