What is clinical governance?
The definition of clinical governance in the Department of Health publication “A first class service” is:
“Clinical governance can be defined as the framework through which organisations are accountable for continuously improving the quality of their services and safe-guarding high standards of care.

At OHP Ltd we ensure that quality is at the centre of all our activities. We have structures in place to allow us to ensure that it can be demonstrated. Regular internal audit of structure, process and outcome of care is undertaken to ensure all aspects of our practice is of a high standard and adheres to best practice. We encourage our staff, clients and their employees to provide feedback, enabling their active participation as we continuously improve the quality of service delivery.

Our doctors and nurses follow the requirements of their professional bodies including the General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM).
Our doctors and nurses participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD). At OHP Ltd, we organise internal training activities to support our employees and provide learning opportunities. We also support and encourage our employees to participate in external CPD conferences, courses and programmes.
Our doctors and nurses participate in an annual appraisal process and are required to maintain an up to date revalidation record (appraisal outcomes and recommendations) for the purpose of relicensing with their professional bodies. This will include a record of the clinicians CPD as well as a record of praise/positive feedback or complaints and the outcome of any related investigations.
At OHP Ltd our clinical governance processes have been externally validated by the FOM, with OHP Ltd receiving SEQOHS accreditation in October 2017.
